ANTÓNIO PEDRO VICENTE
Historiador e professor catedrático de História Contemporânea na Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, António Pedro Vicente dedicou-se fundamentalmente à história política, institucional, militar e diplomática. Sempre se interessou pela fotografia, como documento fundamental da história contemporânea. A sua formação académica e a prática de investigação asseguram a lógica coordenativa desta coleção que permite documentar a evolução da cultura fotográfica nas áreas da estética, ciência, técnica, comércio, indústria e lazer. Tendo iniciado a sua coleção de câmaras fotográficas antigas num período em que este tipo de interesse era ainda raríssimo, conseguiu reunir exemplares hoje inexistentes no mercado internacional.
A historian and professor of Contemporary History at the Faculty of Social and Humane Sciences at the NOVA University of Lisbon, António Pedro Vicente wholly dedicated himself to political, institutional, military and diplomatic history. He had always been interested in photography as a fundamental document of contemporary history. His academic background and investigative practices assured the coordinating logic of this collection, which allows for the documentation of the evolution of photographic culture in the areas of aesthetic, science, technique, commerce, industry and leisure. Having begun his vintage camera collection at a time when the interest in such a matter was still scarce, he managed to amass samples which are now non-existent in the international market.
